Zach Osborne is now entering what could possibly be the most successful year of his life in Motocross, as he prepares for his best chance at the MX2 World Championship title in 2012. After a great 2010 which saw Osborne take home the British MX2 Championship and miss out on the World podium by one position, things were looking good for 2011.
Osborne started well in the Little Silver opener but only a mechanic fault held him back as he DNF in the third race, allowing team mate Arnaud Tonus to take the win. In regards to the British Championship Zach Osborne and his Team mate Tonus showed the way forward as they rode 20-30 seconds ahead of the competition, with only each other for company. They took home two overalls each before illness, and eventually injury took over Zach's 2011.
The World Championship scene looked promising, while originally just missing out on podiums, Osborne then went on to take 2nd at the GP of France, and 3rd in Portugal. Unfourtunately for Zach, he was struck down by Epstein Barr, which greatly reduced Zach's abiity to perform. Despite valiant efforts to push on, the illness wasn't helping. In what could have been a great comeback, A small mistake at Foxhills saw Osborne catapulted over the handlebars and left with a shoulder injury, which knocked him out of the competition for 2011.
Now fully rested and repaired, Zach will train in America and compete the first 4 West Coast supercross events before returning to Europe for his MX2 World Championship effort.
