The Dixon Yamaha Team was founded and is still run by former Yamaha GP mechanic Steve Dixon. Steve was also manager of the Yamaha UK MX team in years leading up to the formation of the team in 2002. In 2004 the team adopted the 'Bike It...' prefix as the the large distribution and manufacturing company joined the team as title sponsors.A fresh look and team name has been adopted for 2008, as Bike It have launched the new UTAG product, so the team becomes UTAG Yamaha.
Almost without question the most prominent rider of the Dixon Team's history is Billy Mackenzie, who raced the Yamahas under Steve's management for eight seasons in the 125/MX2 class, with the exception of a 2004 MX1 campaign. Dixon and Mackenzie won GP's, secured top ten World Championship rankings and came painfully close to clinching the British Championship. In 2004 Dixon signed Australian ace Andrew Macfarlane, who rocketed to GP victories and forced his way to 7th in the MX2 World Standings by the end opf the season. Since 2002 the team has featured other riders such as Gordon Crockard, Mark Jones, Adam Lyons, Julien Bill and Jason Higgs.
For 2008 the lineup features Norwegian GP star Kenneth Gundersen, Ulster Champion and team memeber since 2004 Martin Barr and Spanish Champion Carlos Campno. Kenneth will compete the British and World MX1 Championships, with Martin and Carlos competing in the British and World MX2 Championships.
